Intimate Beach Wedding in Carpinteria, CA

When K & M planned their micro-wedding in September, nobody quite expected the cool, overcast day that greeted us. Nevertheless, that did not stop Kyler from hitting the surf at the beach he had come to love. The family home of Melia’s cousins had become their safe place of refuge during their years of dating during C*vid, so it was a no-brainer to usher in their next chapter at this place that held some very special and significant memories to them both. As an avid surfer, K would spend every day he could hitting the waves at this beach, so we thought — why not start the day that way?

Another detail of their day that I loved? Their chuppah, hand-built out of driftwood found on the beach, adorned with plants from K’s own plant store!

While I love adventuring with couples, I am allll about relaxing and cozy intimate wedding days centered around connection too, and K&M’s wedding day was just that. After their ceremony, M’s family brought out drinks and snacks and everyone just hung out on the beach together. As the sun started to dip, we ventured onto the nearby bluffs for sunset portraits. The sun showed its face for about 3 minutes as it dipped below the clouds, just before disappearing beyond the horizon… which made that sunset all the more precious!
