Sunrise Elopement Portraits in the Angeles National Forest
The Angeles Crest is not, by any means, a hidden gem to Southern Californians — drive up Hwy 2 any day/time of the week and you’ll see tons of cars/people enjoying the beautiful drive up & down the mountains, stopping at every turnout to take in the views. It’s an easily accessible area for most in SoCal, and you can’t go wrong with almost any of the turnouts along the way. Which is what E & A did with me on this gorgeous morning! We met at a spot I had scouted years before, and even though there were (inexplicably) hundreds of cars coming down Hwy 2 at 6:00AM that morning, we had this whole area to ourselves.
A thick fog lay over the city that morning, which also meant that we were in for a treat! A cloud inversion (being above the clouds) awaited us once we drove high enough up the Angeles Crest; from where we stood, we could see a sea of clouds below us in the distance — a magical feeling I will never get over. :’) The pinkish-blue skies started lightening up, the peaks behind us glowed orange, and then finally, the sun peeked over the range in front of us. All this to ourselves?! Wow.
Please enjoy the beauty that was this morning, and these two beautiful souls. Sunrise shoots are always hard to wake up for until you’re actually up and watching the sun light up the world around you, and you feel like the only people in the world. :’)
Kind words from E —
“Book with Pam. You’ll get the best photos of your entire life. She’s a master at her craft, sweet as could be and very fun to work with. My husband and I had no prior experience with taking professional photos and Pam made the entire process a dream. She asks all the right questions to get to know you and the vibe you want for your photos. She scouted really amazing locations and put together a wonderful presentation that made picking a location easy. She’s very knowledgeable, down to earth and honestly a wonderful person all around. I cannot stop looking at our photos! She really delivers! You won’t regret booking with her, I promise!”
